So writing/posting everyday got put on hold when I moved into the new apartment and was informed by one of my roomies that the internet couldn’t be hooked up for about a week. Yesterday at 8PM we finally got it all set up, and now I’m back.
In other news, it is a BEAUTIFUL day in San Francisco. I think I’ll go for a walk on the beach after dinner. :)
So today… today was eventful.
Today was my sister’s last day of her junior year in high school. As a dutiful older sister, I picked her up on her last day (rather than her taking the bus). We fought on the way home. I apologized for my wrongdoings, and she apologized for hers, and all was settled. We talked about senior year, how I get far too emotional thinking about my baby sister getting older, but that I’m still excited for her (hint: tears may have been involved because I’m a crier- movies, books, songs, life milestones, etc).
Today I picked up my mother from her work and witnessed two near-accidents and wondered what was happening to the world today. I dropped my mother off and went to run errands and remembered how nice it is to mouth off to other drivers within the privacy of your own car. Who knew I would ever think the phrase, “Oh PT Crusier, you can just go shove it up your ass!” was a beautiful thing. A girl who has spent too many silent-but-frustrated hours on the MUNI.
Today I bought pants. I have a weekend training for my newest job and had to have black work-pants. So I went where any college student with a part-time job would go; Target. Now, Target has something like 5 different fits of formal pants. Did I know they had this? No. The closest Target in SF is in Daly City (which is kind of a shame really…) so I hardly see the inside of a Target, much less have the dinero to shop for anything. So, needless to say, I had no clue which fit was mine. Turns out it is “Fit 2”. TA-DA!! Glorious, great! EXCEPT: That was the only fit that didn’t have my size. Story of mygoddamned life. But I took to the store like a hawk and after the third circling overhead, I found the ONE and ONLY pair of “Fit 2” pants in my size. Hallelujah. Amen.
Today I got to catch up with an old friend. Because of such diligence in finding the perfect pants, I was later getting back to my house than I had planned. Luckily, this friend of mine also goes way back with my family and was perfectly comfortable hanging out with them while I was out. That sort of thing makes me happy. She finally started reading Harry Potter (10 years behind but better late than never), we talked about failed attempts at romance, we talked about new characters we’ve met. We ate food, we laughed a lot, and reminisced even more. I miss her. I like our visits.
Today I baked cookies. Both regular chocolate chip, and vegan. Some friends of mine are letting me crash with them while I attend this training over the weekend so I made them ALL cookies as a thank you. Because you can almost never say no to cookies.
So my day was eventful, in a lot of small, summer-vacation ways. But it was good. I liked it.

Now I know this is nerdy, but I stayed up to watch HGTV programs… and now I want to do all kinds of decorating/handywork. I could totally make this for our deck!
I work just up the street from Civic Center in SF. I came into town briefly to take care of some paperwork. Before I left to head back to my hometown to continue visiting family, I took this picture.
Not too shabby, don’t you think?
My pup, Molly, is very excited about the Gaga album release. The only time she watches anything on a screen is when it involves home movies or Gaga videos
I’m not sure what that says about my home movies…
